Poultry and Game

Our poultry is procured from several different companies: fresh ducks from Creedy Carver of Crediton, fresh turkeys from Kelly's of Copplestone and fresh chickens through Weddel Swift of Exeter.  Our game is supplied by Brian Cook at Payhembury.  To see our wide range of Poultry and Game Products click here

Delicatessen

95% of the products on our delicatessen counter we produce ourselves.  Pride of place must go to our pork brawn made by John Richards.  This won the supreme award at the Q Guild of Butchers in 2003.  This award was again won in 2004 for our cooked pressed salt brisket, produced by Steve Thorne who is in charge of the delicatessen.  To see our wide range of cooked meats and our specialities click here

Ready Made Meals

We offer a large range of ready made meals, which are prepared on the premises with top quality fresh meat and local vegetables.  Our range includes: Lasagne, Lamb Hotpot, Shepherds or Cottage Pie, Moussaka, Chicken Tetrazzini, Beef Casserole, & Liver and Bacon.

Sausages

A wide range of award winning sausages are available.  All our sausages are made on our premises with local meat.  To see the variety of sausages we make click on the type of meat sausage you want below.

 

 

Beef

Most of our Beef is supplied from a family relative, Mervyn Hayman, at Northmostown, Sidmouth. Who buys in and finishes store cattle.  The animals are then slaughtered by Mervyn's brother, Philip Hayman, at Ottery St Mary.  The beef is hung for a minimum of 14 days to enhance eating quality.

Lamb

For the last 20 years we have kicked off the lamb season with spring lambs from Roger and Doreen Franks at Lower Weston Farm, near Sidmouth.  The lambs are slaughtered at Philip Hayman's abattoir at Ottery St Mary.  During the rest of the year Philip sources quality lambs from local farms on our behalf.  To see our wide range of Lamb Products click here

 

 

 

Bakery

Try our award winning pasties and pies.  All our bakery products are made on the premises, we have a range of pies and pasties to suit all tastes including, beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, game, rabbit and vegetarian.  To see our wide range of Pasties, Pies, and other Specialities click here

Pork

A large proportion of our pigs are also sourced locally through Philip Hayman at Ottery St Mary.  Our extra cuts of pork are again purchased from Weddel Swift of Exeter to balance with sales.  To see our wide range of Pork Products click here
